on any given upbeat day in china, it's a relative no-brainer to debate between the rights of western societies versus the wrongs of the despots in zhong nan hai. sure, you might concede to your chinese friends, the system isn't always perfect or completely just (the american one in this case), but after all they don't arrest and manhandle people for expressing their individual views.
