with the current buzz around the iphone girl phenom (click here for more), which could very well turn out to be today's rosie the riveter campaign, we are reminded how the female factory worker can exude such glamour and attraction despite their surroundings and, as in the aircraft labourer below, in the face of such a trying period in history.
ok, so this pic was probably a set-up - i doubt most gals put on lipstick and a chiffon dress to check electrical assemblies, but the prep was well worth the resulting allure in this wonderful photograph. it's part of flckr's the commons collection - in this case, courtesy of the library of congress.
