this is from way back in 2004 whilst moseying qingdao with my first digital camera (SONY V1).
don't be fooled by the innocuous appearance of these bottles - they contain a drink best avoided but always imposed upon:
'baijiu' 白酒 ("bye joe"), a vile eau-de-vie distilled from sorghum, rice, wheat or whatever grass-like plant happens to be growing near the boiler. this pallet of bottles is merely a partial array of a week's consumption at a local restaurant. come to think of it, this looks more like one night's worth for imbibing customers.
