not everything in beijing is made in china.. the place is a bastion of motor madness with a surreal amount of imported exotics jamming traffic everywhere. in one afternoon i tallied up 3 ferrari's, 4 bentley's, 2 maserati's (incl. the one on the left) and boundless bmw's.

*bazou (or 'bagnole' in france) is the affectionate term for that monkey-shit buick skylark you can't seem to part with, mainly due the enormous amount of cash you've put into keeping the thing rolling.

COMMENTS!! in keeping with my gradual wean off invasive social networks, or rather, facebook more specifically, i've finally come to my senses and updated this blog with real-world comments courtesy of DISQUS. just like the fellowship of this motley crew (befriended in laos last year) there's always some place in this world to lay down your opinion and it doesn't always have to be coded in blue and white.
i'd like to thank (most) of you who have left remarks here previously through the buggy and 'shared' facebook connect interface. unfortunately, thanks to mr. zuckerberg's information gathering greed-fest, i was unable to either save or import these comments and they are lost forever (sort of?). so, am i joining the QUITFACEBOOK day bandwagon you may ask? no, i'm not jumping the gun just yet - FB has been a delightful tool to hook up with old friends as well as allowing select strangers peek into what's going on here, but i would say it is losing its 'je ne sais quoi'.
