- i visited Homs in 2001, mainly as a base to explore the expansive Krak des Chevaliers. though not endowed with the sort of picturesque and quaint attractions as say, Hama, in Homs, as everywhere in syria, i was nonetheless welcomed with warm, generous hearts and amazing food. it's shattering to watch what's happening there today and the UN's ineptness to deal with it especially disgusting. f*#k china and russia - get in there and help those poor souls.
